Waltham Chase
History
Waltham Chase lies almost equally between Bishops Waltham and Wickham and has its own unique identity. You can almost pass through without knowing it’s there as most of the residential properties all splinter off from the main Winchester Road. Almost a centre spot to the surrounding villages of Curdridge, Shirrell Heath, Shedfield and Swanmore from here you can travel locally very conveniently.
Description
A Post Office, co-op store and well used bicycle shop are prominent and useful and there is a wide range of close by public houses. Wickham village is only two miles distance and has a large variety of shops and restaurants including Indian, Thai and traditional English.
Swanmore Secondary School is close at hand being only a mile from the village centre, and there are also well praised pre school clubs nearby.
Properties vary with many occupying small estate locations with a good mixture of two, three and four bedroom houses ranging in age from the 1970’s to today. Many lanes provide larger established residence with a very semi rural feel and ‘for all residents of Waltham Chase the countryside is never very far away.’
